Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house having a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and my nsfas permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the my nsfas public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
